Follow the following installation instructions carefully and run the installation program first before plugging in the pole display. If the model is an OPOS display (PD39xxU, PD69xxU, LD99xxU or LD1xxxU), you have to install both USB drivers and OPOS drivers to work with the pole display. In this case, install the USB driver first before installing OPOS drivers. There are two types of driver interface available to the application software, namely "Device Name" and "Virtual COM Port". The "Device Name" interface use a specific device name (\\.\LCLD9, \\.\LCLD1, \\.\LCPD3\, \\.\LCPD6\) to access the pole display directly. Select this driver if you are using OPOS or the POS software was tailored to use this device name. If the POS software is only able to access COM ports for the pole display, use the Virtual COM port. Device name drivers has the advantage of retaining same device name when the pole display is plugged into different USB ports. Virtual COM port drivers allow the USB display to work as a serial device to the POS software. When the display is plugged into different USB port, a new COM port number will be generated. The COM port name settings must be matched between the USB display driver and the POS software. The virtual COM port number can also be configured under Device Manager. This USB pole display driver provide both interface at the same time. So, no selction is required during installation. However, application software must be set up correctly to work with the display. Check the POS application software installation manual for proper set up. --------------------------------------------------------------------- For Windows XP: --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.
